I decided to try it out because it was free and because it was like Mount & Blade. However, it is worth it, because who is going to just buy Tiger Knight? I would have not bought it as I do not buy Early Access games, and I had no particular attraction to Chinese culture. But it is a profitable business model, so the developers are not going to change that. That is what micro-transactions do to games.
But that is because Tiger Knight is a free game that depends on micro-transactions. Wait to find a match, wait to start the game, wait for the match to end if you die (as you cannot use the same troops if you quit and find a new match). Tiger Knight has a better troop control system than Tiger Knight, however, the queues and the progression system make it a better choice to play Mount & Blade if you do not want to sit and wait. Otherwise I would have never considered it. It was Tiger Knight's similarity to Mount & Blade and to the Commander/Lords/Captain game modes that made me want to try it out in the first place. Then there are game modes I do not like such as Deathmatch, some pointless batttle royale of gladiators. Napoleonic Wars' Commander Battle, Viking Conquest's Lords Battle, and With Fire & Sword's Captain Battle are like Tiger Knight's Command - Conquest but without the waiting and the progression system. Depends on what modifications and game modes you play. Well you are right, long waits, and having to grind to unlock things is stupid, but M&B still sucks. Surely players have enough of an advantage by their skill level, making the gap bigger by equipment availability is not novice-friendly. It also lacks a progression system so you are on equal footing with other players as you do not have to have played for a while to unlock new equipment which is quite an advantage.
